Edie has been a solo pastor for more than 20 years; serving in an urban, small town, and now suburban setting. In each of these ministries, Edie has walked with congregations facing deep change, a variety of losses, and seeking to faithfully engage the world around them and has a passion for the local church. This passion has extended beyond her local congregation through the work of Churches Learning Change (CLC). She began working with Churches Learning Change as a participant in 2010 and has remained engaged as a coach, facilitator, and now as the Coordinator of CLC. She has her bachelor’s in theology from Valparaiso University and her Masters in Divinity from Western Theological Seminary.

Edie’s experiences in the church have led her to pursue a Doctor of Ministry degree in Adaptive Change at Fuller Theological Seminary. She has entered the dissertation phase and is focusing on work around nostalgia, grief, and communal practices of lament as a means of helping to free the church to move into a more hopeful future. Her particular focus is in helping congregations and pastors who are struggling to imagine the future God is preparing for them.

Edie lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband Brian, one adolescent son, and two dogs. She loves to read, knit, walk, and garden. As a family they love baseball, hockey, and are active in the Oldsmobile Club of America.
