Ryan has been immersed in the leadership conversation for the last 10 plus years. He was a member and co-pastor of the Harbor church community, a network of House churches near downtown Houston, working and forming relationships with those in recovery. His non-profit work includes coordinating relief efforts and training for schools in Guatemala City as well as working with local schools and prisons to interrupt the school to prison pipeline in the Houston area.
Ryan has been involved with Faithwalking since 2007 as both a participant and a coach. He has undertaken the study of Bowen Family Systems Theory for over 10 years, including practicum work at The Center for the Study of Natural Systems and the Family. Ryan has steadily pursued his own coaching and learning in how to practice theory in his family, relationships and the organizations he’s worked with. He has a graduate degree as an LPC & LMFT and is currently accruing clinical experience to attain full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
He is a native Californian who lived in Houston for most of the last 20 years and currently resides in Austin. He studied at Houston Baptist University achieving his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is currently attending Houston Graduate School of Theology. He also holds a certification as a yoga instructor and is passionate about role of the mind body connection as it relates to healing and change in the midst of life’s challenges.
